Contains the following type of materials: photographs. Covers the following war: World War II (WWII). Contains photographs of the following military unit: 13th Armored Division. General description of the collection: The Herbert H. Frost photograph collection contains the photos from the later part of his Army career. The one exception is a portrait of him in 1894 at age 1 year. There are photos of officers jumping their horses, ca. 1940, an inspection of the United States (U.S.) first commando unit in 1942 by General George Marshall and others, several views including Generals George S. Patton, Willis D. Crittenberger and Jacob Devers, officers and activities of the 13th Armored Division in the United States (U.S.) and in Europe between 1943 and 1945, and a view of the 13th's insignia created by Walt Disney. There are also numerous autographed portraits of generals and colonels of the WWII period and of a visit to Hawaii by Assistant Secretary of Defense Stuart Symington in 1946.

Willis Dale Crittenberger (1890-1980) was born in Anderson, Indiana. After graduating from West Point in 1913, he commissioned in the cavalry.
